Lucas Mast
Bio

Lucas Mast grew up in Winesburg, Ohio, a small town in the middle of the state. Although his parents broke Amish when he was very young, Lucas grew up in a strictly conservative household. He didn’t grow up with movies or TV, so he had to look to those around him for inspiration and direction in life. His brother Richie and his father taught him the value of hard work and dedication. Watching his dad work hard every day to support his family taught Lucas the value of hard work.
“If I wanted to get an upper hand in life, I was responsible for making that happen. I was never given something without working for it.”

Because of this single-minded focus on working for what you want, Lucas grew up hard headed and hard working, determined to forge a path as a winner. “Success is the only option,” he is fond of saying. This drive to succeed lead him to success on the high school basketball court at Hiland High School. Still unfazed by the lure of games and silly recreational pursuits, Lucas spent most of his free time in the gym and on the court practicing in order to become the best he could be.

After high school, Lucas found himself at Common Grounds Grappling Club in Nashville, Ohio where he linked up with Coach Jose Burgos. Impressed by his strong work ethic and willingness to learn, Burgos took Lucas under his wing. Still holding on to the focus and drive of his youth, Lucas found quick success through sheer grit and determination. This strength lead him, after only three years, to become one of the leading MMA fighters in the region. Ranked the #1 amateur in Ohio and #2 in the midwest, Lucas wraps up his amateur career with a 7-1 record and several belts.

In January 2020, Lucas will debut in his first fight as a professional fighter with the Honor Championship Fighting League.

All along, Lucas Mast has been focused on his journey, shattering expectations and “doing it better than the ones other people look to for inspiration.”
